There has been constant debates on whether the New Jersey Nets should move to Brooklyn or possibly to Newark.
I am a Newark native and I would love the fact of having a NBA team playing in the Largest City in New Jersey. It has been announced that they will play 2 of there preseason games at the Prudential Center ( The Rock). I think all of New Jersey Nets basketball fans and Newark basketball fans should support the two preseason games to show there is a strong fan base in the city of Newark. The Prudential Center will be hosting the Boston Celtics vs. New Jersey Nets on Oct 13 and New York Knicks vs. New Jersey Nets on the Oct 21. This will be the perfect opportunity to show the Mayor Cory Booker and the Nets Owner Bruce Ratner that Newark should be the home for the New Jersey Nets.
Its already bad enough that we have two football teams that play in New Jersey that are called New York Giants and New York Jets. Now they want to take our only large franchise team in the state to New York.
I hope you guys come out to support the City of Newark as well as the New Jersey Nets.

I am definitely for the Nets moving to Newark instead of Brooklyn. Any real New Jersey sports fan remembers the original plan for the arena in Newark, was for the Nets. The issue with the Nets and the sales were not based upon the Nets production in the NBA, it was the locatiion at the Meadowlands. 90 percent of the sports teams in the country are located in major cities. Which would include public transportation, whether its buses, trains, subways, trolly, and etc. But the Meadowlands, its in a location where public transportation is not valid. Lets keep the Nets Home...
ReplyDeleteI'm in agreement with the guy who posted above. Nets fans deserve an arena in the heart of a city, not wedged between highways, off ramps and construction sites. When Nets fans attend those two preseason games at the Prudential Center they will realize three things in which the Prudential Center will provide: location, location, location. The Prudential Center is easily accessible to fans as opposed to the IZOD Center. The Prudential Center will not only increase revenue for the city, it will boost attendance to the Nets games (which in turn increases revenue for the Nets' organization). All in all, the Nets' fate will come down to one thing, M-O-N-E-Y and whether Ratner and his investors still have enough of it. Keep the Nets in Jersey!!
ReplyDeleteI will make my presence to the "rock" on the preseason 2010.. Common New jersey people let's support our ONLY team!
